We work exclusively with independent consultants so that we don't have to force projects onto engineers (harmful to humans) or engineers onto projects (harmful to clients). It has the added benefit of allowing us to engage a lot of otherwise un-hirable folks.
We typically work with around a dozen startups and a few dozen consultants at a time.
